(a) The owner of an alarm shall pay a charge of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each false alarm to which the Police respond in excess of four (4) false alarms at any one location during a period of one (1) calendar year.

(b) The City shall bill the owner for false alarms, and the owner shall pay those charges in the manner provided by the City. If an owner fails to pay charges assessed pursuant to this section, the City may seek payment by any lawful means.

(c) This section shall not apply to false alarms occurring within thirty (30) days immediately following installation of that alarm.

(d) This section shall not apply for a period of seven (7) days after receipt of written notice that an alarm system is being upgraded, repaired, or receiving maintenance. Only two (2) such seven (7) day periods will be granted in any calendar year.
